Love Them Anyway

Love Them Anyway

Love Them Anyway – A Message Woven from Luke 7:45–48

There’s something powerful about wearing your faith—literally. When I created the “Love Them Anyway” shirt, I knew I wanted it to be more than just words on fabric. I wanted it to tell a story—one that reminds us of grace, forgiveness, and the unconditional love that Jesus modeled for all of us.

The verse that inspired this design comes from Luke 7:45–48, where a woman—broken, imperfect, and deeply aware of her past—anoints Jesus’ feet with perfume and tears. While others judge her, Jesus sees her heart.

“‘You didn’t greet me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet. You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume.
I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.’
Then Jesus said to the woman, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’” — Luke 7:45–48

That moment captures what it means to love people anyways—even when they’re broken, misunderstood, or imperfect. Because that’s exactly what Jesus did. He didn’t love based on worthiness; He loved because that’s who He is.

Why This Design Means So Much to Me

This verse spoke to me in a special way today. I’ve been walking through a difficult season—trying to figure out what’s next in my career, feeling uncertain and a little broken. But this story reminded me that sometimes God allows our hearts to break so He can remind us of His unshakable love.

If everything in life were perfect, we might forget how much we need Him. But in those seasons of uncertainty, we’re reminded of the beauty of grace—the same grace that restored the woman in Luke 7 and continues to restore us daily.

That’s why I included more of the story on this shirt. I want it to be a conversation starter. Maybe someone unfamiliar with the passage will ask about it. Maybe someone who’s been carrying shame or doubt will see it and feel seen. Maybe it’ll simply remind a fellow believer that no one is too far gone for God’s love.
